Jewelry and Gift Trade Show - Jewelry & Gift Trade Show with Thousands of International Buyers >>>>>>>>>> UK Online Shopping Tops 10% According to a report published last week 10% of all retail sales in the UK are now being made online. Almost half of all shoppers intend to spend more in the future online. The report was published by the IMRG (Interactive Media in Retail Group). 50 billion gbp are now being spent online for retail merchandise, and another 30 billion is influenced by product research and other online activities. Since 2000 when the IMRG Index was first published, online retail has grown by 20 times or 2,000%, and according to the survey it shows no signs of slowing down. For retailers this means coordinated efforts between online and offline marketing are important, since consumers see synergistic relationship between the two. And for UK retailers who have established themselves online things should continue to get better in the coming years. Retailers must research traffic and purchasing trends to insure they are converting visitors into sales and not just sending potential purchasers off to other sites to buy. The top 10 list was dominated by companies such as Dell, Amazon and Argos -- companies without a significant offline presence. And many major brands with a strong offline presence were nowhere to be seen in the list. This suggests there is a difference in perception between companies with strong online brands vs those that have a strong offline brand.
