Google Signs $900 Million Deal - Will Be on MySpace.com News Corp. the parent company of Fox and Fox News has inked a deal with Google in which the search giant will pay $900 million for exclusive presence on most Fox Interactive websites. The biggest plum is MySpace.com which News Corp paid more than $1/2 billion to acquire. Under the deal Google will become the search engine for numerous sites, including MySpace.com, as well as provide interactive advertising. Google will be on every page of MySpace.com, and there will be a MySpace/Google toolbar available for download. The Fox Interactive sites involved include MySpace.com ( http://www.myspace.com ), online videogame and entertainment site IGN ( http://www.ign.com ), collegiate and pro sports network Scout.com ( http://www.scout.com ), movie site Rottentomatoes.com ( http://www.rottentomatoes.com ), men’s lifestyle site AskMen.com ( http://www.askmen.com ); as well as Gamespy.com ( http://www.gamespy.com ), Gamespyarcade.com ( http://www.gamespyarcade.com ), Fileplanet.com ( http://www.fileplanet.com ), Direct2drive.com ( http://www.direct2drive.com ), Teamxbox.com ( http://www.teamxbox.com ), 3dgamers.com ( http://www.3dgamers.com ), Gamestat.com ( http://www.gamestat.com ), Cheatscodesguides.com ( http://www.cheatscodesguides.com ) and Gamermetrics.com ( http://www.gamermetrics.com ). These guaranteed minimum revenue share payments are expected to be made over the period beginning in the first quarter of 2007 and ending in the second quarter of 2010." According to Hitwise, 10.8% of Google's traffic was coming from MySpace.com
